Phase Overview

During this training phase Clinician IIs will focus on providing essential onboarding documentation for credentialing and paneling, particularly for those who are not yet credentialed or paneled. Clinician IIs will be equipped with a general understanding of the School-based Mental Health and Wellness (SBMHW) concept and how it intersects with both healthcare and education systems. Additionally, Clinician IIs will develop a comprehensive grasp of their responsibilities within the SBMHW system, along with understanding the supervisory expectations linked to their role.

Phase Goals/Objections

  1. Provide necessary onboarding documentation for credentialing and paneling if not already credentialed/paneled

  2. Develop understanding of School-based Mental Health and Wellness (SBMHW)

  3. Develop general understanding of the intersection/integration between healthcare and education systems

  4. Develop general understanding of their role in the SBMHW system and supervisory expectations associated with their role

Compile and complete documents below and submit to designated program analyst for credentialing:

Gather and finalize the required documents listed below. Submit them to the designated Program Analyst for the credentialing process ensuring all necessary paperwork is in order for proper review and approval.

    ☐   Government-Issued Photo ID

    ☐   Documentation of current PPD results (TB test)

    ☐   Pocket License (LMFT, LCSW, ACSW, AMFT)

    ☐   Copy of current certificate of professional insurance (provided by SCOE)

    ☐   Documentation of current Flu Vaccination or sign the Flu Declination Form, and abide by policy

    ☐   Molina HIV and AIDS Specialist Form

    ☐   Anthem Behavioral Health Practice Profile Form

    ☐   Documentation of COVID-19 Vaccine

    ☐   Copy of diploma or transcripts from school where degree was obtained

Review School Based Mental Health & Wellness website

Explore the Centers of Wellness website to become familiar with program content and resources. Identify specific topics or site elements that resonate with you. Prepare to share these elements and other insights during SBMHW Orientation.

Complete the necessary documents from the Sacramento County Health Center (SCHC) to move forward in the approval process. This is necessary to obtain authorization to provide clinical services and oversight. Timely submission of these documents will help expedite approval.

Credentialing Documents

  • • Complete Sacramento County Health Center (SCHC) VPN form

    • Complete Sacramento County Health Center (SCHC) Application form

    • Apply as a Medi-Cal provider within the Provider Application and Validation for Enrollment (PAVE) system

    • Enroll within the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) Provider data Portal

Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) Requirements

Review the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) practice standards, specifically requirements for establishing new supervisory relationships, and the necessary documentation for supervision per BBS guidelines.

  • • Review BBS requirements for establishing new supervisory relationships

    • Review required documentation for supervision per BBS guidelines

    • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of supervision training that meets the course provider and course content requirements specified in regulation within 60 days of the commencement of supervision

    • Complete supervisors' self-assessment report and email to BBS

    • Review annual updates to BBS requirements
