Phase Overview

In this training phase, Coordinators will establish confidence in their role by deepening their understanding of the needs of their assigned districts and school sites. Coordinators will maintain their responsibilities in supporting the development of schools as Centers of Wellness by conducting  a mid-year integration check-in. Additionally, Coordinators will continue to support school teams effectively while building and nurturing relationships with school, district, and community partners. This phase will emphasize refining communication strategies to better identify emerging community needs.

Role Development

Understand the Coordinator's role in transforming schools into centers of wellness and serving schools as clients. Begin integrating TSEL practices to foster the DEIB framework and build authentic partnerships. Recognize the importance of introspection and self-awareness in addressing discomfort, and actively participate in regional team meetings, SBMHW team meetings, professional development, and regional events. Additionally, enhance your skills through continuous engagement with collaborative efforts and reflective practices.

  • • Continue to navigate coordinator role and incorporate DEIB framework into practices and professional engagement

    • Continue to navigate through feelings of discomfort through introspection and upholding TSEL practices

    • Attend and collaborate in regional team meetings, SBMHW team and collaborative meetings, professional development and training, and events within the region

Supporting School Sites as Clients

Collaborate with clinicians to review and advance action plans aimed at enhancing accountability, strengthening care team collaboration, and supporting schools as clients. Attend and engage in district and school site events, and effectively schedule and visit assigned school sites monthly with relevant team members. Gain insights into continuously monitoring action plan progress to ensure ongoing improvements and alignment with organizational goals.

  • • In collaboration with clinicians, review progress of action plan(s) to:

    Strengthen accountability in efforts to achieving core components

    Strengthen collaboration of care team

    Support school as client

     Attend district and school site events for assigned schools

     Schedule and visit each assigned school site monthly including other team members (family navigators, clinicians, clinician II’s  as needed, clinician IIs, and Career Pipeline as needed)

     Continuously monitor action plan progress

Mid-Year Integration Check-in

Conduct a mid-year check-in with school site administration for each assigned school. Check-in will focus on the progress of integration elements such as program and site protocols for mandated reporting, HIPAA & FERPA communications, multidisciplinary systems, COST structure implementation, ABC report data, the universal referral process, and billable encounters.

Clinician Oversight

Explore how to effectively schedule and facilitate monthly 1:1 meetings with clinicians and complete chart reviews in collaboration with clinician II. Learn how these practices support ongoing professional development and enhance clinical support.

Supporting School Site Team

Understand how to manage team schedules by requesting work plans for team members during school closures for December and Spring breaks. Additionally, learn how to prepare effectively for Mental Health Awareness Month to ensure timely and relevant initiatives.
